Job Description

Japanese leading distributor of factory automation components seeks a Sr. Project Engineer.

Project Management.
a. Define the Scope of work with Customers. Hold Specification Meetings. Agree upon Spec w/customer.
b. Write a detailed specification package for each project bid. The goal of this is to have a seamless transition from quotation to PO, so that engineering staff can quickly/efficiently begin to start work.
c. Schedule, Follow-Up or Manage internally developed projects, or projects developed with other engineering partners.
d. Confirm drawings, programming, specifications for work on internally developed projects, or projects developed with other engineering partners, for the purpose of completing project buy-off.
e. Quality check for installed systems.
f. Onsite confirmation of spec and scope of work.
g. Lead Engineer on projects. Supervise the work of other engineers/technicians related to the project assigned. Lead Engineer verifies all tasks, testing performed, and determines completion on jobsite.

2. Support all target customers at the company, look for ways to kaizen their existing systems. When requested, work with the company's local outside sales to provide proposals for solutions to their existing issues.

3. Understand the "Value Added" in our position with customers as a distributor.

4. Technical Support.
a. Provide technical support for the following, PLC (Omron, Mitsubishi), Vision (Omron), Motion (Omron, IAI), HMI (Omron/Proface), AGC (JBW), or other electrical components/manufacturers that the company's supports.
b. Provide technical support for existing systems that the company has supplied to customers (ie . AGC systems, Vision Systems, PLC Modifications, Control Panels).
c. ESG staff internal training.
d. Sales staff technical questions.

5. Design.
a. Unidraf or AutoCAD drawings to support existing projects.
b. Omron, Mitsubishi, Allen Bradley PLC design & programming.
c. Electrical Drawings to support target systems (ie Control Panel, Vision, AGC, Safety, etc).
d. AGC System Layout Drawing .

6. Installation.
a. Install target systems.
b. Support integrators for installation of target systems.

Detailed Physical Requirements for Installation:
Ability to carry a Server PC, install in PC Cabinet. Requires Bending down in small space.
Ability to work on one's knees, repetitious stand/squat/kneel movements for floor work.
Ability to adhere Magnetic Tape/Protective Tape to Floor for duration of install - 1-2W+.
Ability to use Power Tools on jobsite (Including, but not limited to: Hammer Drill, Impact Drill).
Ability to use Hand Tools on/off jobsite continuously during work day.
Ability to work on machinery near to floor (Including, but not limited to: Inside, under AGCs).

7. Support ESG Growth.
a. Assist in investigating other engineering companies to partner with.
b. Support development of standardized the company's Systems (ie Standardized AGC Controls, Standard HMI Programming, Andon Systems, etc) in niche markets so that the ESG can capture market share.
c. Continuous study of newest technology to promote to other ESG, Outside Sales, and Target Customers.

8. Travel Requirements.
a. Be able to travel up to 50% on monthly basis (up to 8hrs continuous, normal work break-times, by car).
b. Be able to travel to Canada, Mexico & Japan.

1. More than 5 year experiences in industrial automation.
2. Experience with PLC related products.
3. Experience with Safety or/and Motion related products is a plus.
